Mission & Devotion

Mission

We, New Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, a community of Christian believers, are committed to the teachings of Christ. We endeavor to be refreshers to humankind by leading the lost to Christ and enhancing the spiritual growth of the saints. We further strive to prepare God's people for the work of service so that the body of Christ may be magnified until all reach maturity in faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God. We seek to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching, worshipping and service to the spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs of our community. We strive to be a viable voice and vehicle for equality and empowerment in our community.

Devotional Scripture

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

 I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.               Ephesians 3: 14-20

 Devotional Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for being you and showing us unconditional love, for there is no God like you.  Thank you for today’s necessities.  Help us to understand that sometimes in this life, suffering must come, but you have promised us a better life through your son, Jesus Christ.  Help us to crucify our sinful nature and purify us so the righteous man can stand. In your name Jesus we pray.  Amen.
